About Us – The Story Behind Capy Life

Capy Life is a family-owned brand built on chaos, coffee, and capybaras. We’re a quirky, geeky crew of five...two grownups, three wildly opinionated boys, and a couple of dogs who pride themselves on their unique ability to sideswipe fences.  We are doing our best to navigate parenting, deadlines, and the occasional science fair meltdown with a sense of humor and a whole lot of weird.

Our obsession with capybaras began during a family trip to Taiwan to adopt our youngest son. Somewhere between jet lag and dumplings, we stumbled across a group of capybaras at a farm.  Feeding them, they were completely unbothered, delightfully awkward, and full of chill. It was love at first sight.

There’s something beautifully bizarre about the world’s largest rodent. They’re not flashy. They’re not fast. They don’t even try to be cool. And that’s what makes them iconic. In a world of hustle and highlight reels, capybaras remind us to slow down, stay weird, and embrace our inner oddball.

Capy Life is our way of bottling that energy. From parenting memes in wizard robes to golf shirts for people who lose more balls than they find, our designs celebrate the delightfully nerdy, wonderfully weird, and capybara-level calm.

Connecticut says we can’t legally own one (we checked, twice), but that won’t stop us from living like one.
